sunnyvale to gilroy will be assigned to area code 669. abc 7 news is live in the south bay. >> it used to be in santa clara county. if you're dialing from the home or office, all you had to do was punch in seven numbers. as of tomorrow, as mentioned you're now going to have to dial 11. if you're in the 408 area code, you'll have to dial one, plus area code and phone number. dialing will not make it a long distance call. you will not be charge forward a long distance call but dialing now is part of another change coming up next month. a new area code, 669 will be added to the santa clara county calling area. november 20th new phone lines will be assigned the new 669 code. this is happening for two reasons, first, there are more people getting new phone lines and second, people now have more devices that are assigned to phone numbers than before. because it used to be people

i bay area dog owners want retailers to take wagon train chicken jerky dog treats off shelves. 361 deaths linked to the treats have been reported to the fda. an illinois woman started a petition now 60,000 strong. this online campaign began when her german sheperd died
